Discover Diemen’s Rich Heritage!
Diemen is home to an impressive collection of monuments—national, provincial, and municipal. One of the most iconic landmarks is the Dutch-Israelite Cemetery, located right alongside the railway line. History lovers will also enjoy exploring two unique historic mill remnants at Venserkade and Stammerdijk. In the heart of Diemen, the charming Old Smithy from 1749 still stands, preserving part of its original layout and inventory.

New Additions to Diemen’s Heritage
In 2019, two more municipal monuments joined the list: the Rietschuur and the beloved Blauwe Olifant. This iconic blue elephant has brought joy to generations of children for nearly 60 years—a rare survivor of the iron play structures that once dotted the Netherlands.
